Prof. Kamal Kishore Pant took over as the Director of the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee on October 12, 2022.
Prof. Pant previously held the positions of Petrotech Chair and Federation of Indian Petroleum Industries (FIPI) Chair Professor, Chairman GATE & JAM, Chairman, Library, Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering, and Dean Faculty at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.
Prof. Pant received his PhD (Chemical Engineering) degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in 1997.
He is Adjunct Faculty at the University of Saskatchewan in Canada. He is also a Fellow of several national and international academies, which include the National Academy of Science India (NASI) and the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE).
Prof. Rajeev Ahuja has joined Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar as director from April 1st, 2021.

Prof. S. K. Singh is the Vice Chancellor of Rajasthan Technical University, Kota. He was selected as Professor in Delhi Technological University, Delhi He has obtained his PhD from BITS, Pilani, M. Tech. from IIT-BHU, Varanasi and B.E. from Gorakhpur University with first division and distinction throughout. He has been a member of the “Panel of Judges” to evaluate the performance of integrated steel plants in India for awarding the Prime Minister’s Trophy and the Steel Minister’s Trophy. His research has been recognised in the form of two patents - one from the Federal Republic of Germany and another from India.
Prof. Singh has held various administrative positions:

Board of Governors, CSMRS, Ministry of Water Resources, GoI; Chairman of Departmental Promotion Committee, IASRI (ICAR), New Delhi; Member of University Court, University of Delhi; Accolades honoured to Prof. S.K Singh: Hiyoshi Environmental Award, Japan; APJ Abdul Kalam Memorial Award; Rashtriya Shiksha Gaurav Puraskar; International Felicitation and WEC-IIEE-IAEWP Environmental Award; Bharat Vikas Award and Rashtriya Samman Puraskar.
Prof. Rakesh Sehgal Sehgal is serving as Director of NIT Srinagar (J&K). Prof. Sehgal served as Vice-President of Indian Society of Theoretical & Applied Mechanics (ISTAM) during 2001-2003, Executive member of Tribology Society of India (TSI) for 02 terms, Member Senate of SLIET Longowal during 2015-17, Member selection committee of Vice Chancellor of Cluster University of Jammu and member of academic bodies of many other institutions.
He is presently guiding 07 Ph.D. scholars in the area of material’s tribology. He has also supervised 16 M.Tech. and 48 B.Tech. dissertations.
Prof. Sehgal has supervised 11 Ph.D. scholars in the area of tribo-materials, active vibration control and non-circular journal bearings for various industrial applications in automobile, aerospace and metal rolling sectors
Prof. Sehgal has published 168 research papers in International/National Journals and International/National conference proceedings.
Prof. Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi Served as the Director of IIT Roorkee (Jan 2017 - Oct 2022) and Director, IIT Mandi (July 2020 - Jan 2022).
Prof. Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi received the B.Tech., M.Tech., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in 1986, 1988, and 1995, respectively. He served the Department of Electronics Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi from 1994 to 1996.
Subsequently, he joined the faculty of the Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee.
In 1999, he moved to Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur where he also held the positions of Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Dean of Research & Development and Deputy Director.
He is a recipient of the Distinguished Teacher award of IIT Kanpur and Tan Chin Tuan Fellowship of Nanyang Technical University, Singapore.
He is a founding member of the Telecom Standards Development Society of India (TSDSI) and the current Chair of the Joint Telematics Group which organises the annual National Conference on Communications. Prof. Chaturvedi was a member of the DoT committee which recommended criteria for spectrum allocation to telecom operators, in 2008.
